Wire Weight Gage

The term 'Wire Weight Gage' as it applies to the area of the weather can be defined as ' In hydrologic terms, a river gage comprised of a weight which is lowered to the water level. The weight is attached to a cable; and as the weight is lowered, a counter indicates the length of cable released. The stage is determined from the length of cable required to reach the water level'.
